Multi-service provider forges partnership with leading tech firm to deliver capability boosting software

A Leeds multi-service provider has forged a partnership with a leading tech firm to implement the latest communications technology throughout its operations.

Harrogate-based, Storm is providing Servo Group with instant communication, tracking and compliance software that will keep its workforce connected and boost efficiency on its work around the UK.

Storm provides push-to-talk and push-to-message solutions, including instant voice communication, SOS/man down alert capabilities and image and video sharing to clients all from one device and application across a range of industries including security, construction and utilities. Storm and Servo have co-developed a workforce management, guard compliance and patrol tracking feature to be added to the overall solution, which is set to go live in summer 2021. Its instant communications platform, which has more than 200,000 global users improves efficiency on large-scale and complex projects and helps managers to monitor employee locations and react quickly to major issues.

Christian Kisby from Servo Group said: “As a company, we’re always looking to invest in new technology to bring us to the forefront of our industry and ensure we can offer the best possible service to our clients. This partnership will take us to the next level – Storm are collaborating with us to make sure the software delivers the maximum value to everyone we work with and it will massively improve our efficiency, as well as improving safety for all our operatives, something that we take very seriously. We investigated several providers, but Storm’s track record speaks for itself – it’s technology is the best out there and it’s a forward-thinking, proactive company very much like ourselves.”
The two-year partnership between Storm and Servo will enhance the quality and efficiency of delivery to the multi-service provider’s clients, providing more effective management of the firm’s complex and large-scale projects.

Storm’s market-leading GPS-enabled technology includes location features to keep the entire team in close contact with one another, and an SOS alert button so that operatives can be located immediately in an emergency situation.

It also includes a desktop based command management console so that employee coordination can be improved, and the firm will be supplying specialised rugged smartphones with loud sound capabilities for rail operatives.

Storm is also integrating innovative body cam technology within its software, which will enable staff to record interactions as they happen. The feature will have a massive impact on staff safety, as footage can be sent to a control room or watched later, and it will also help enormously with suicide prevention on rail tracks.

Servo, which recently achieved the gold standard in ISO accreditation, provides full FM services, S.I.A licensed manned guarding, CCTV, vetted and screened rail labour, property management and construction services, and boasts high-profile clients such as the NHS, Network Rail and the Environment Agency. It has experienced fast growth since its inception seven years ago, with over 1000 operatives around the UK, and more than 30 staff working from its Gelderd Road head office.

Luke Wilkinson, Founding Director of Storm: “Servo are a fantastic, rapidly growing business, we are thrilled to be a part of their journey. We have been working hard developing our solution so it is the complete package. With our solution updates that are coming in summer 2021 we are getting closer to this goal. We are delighted to be partnering with Servo and that they see the true benefits of our solution within their business.”
